Reflection on 2020 from CEO Eric Moraczewski

NMBL by the Numbers (1).jpg

2020 was a different year, one that challenged all of us. In early March I would have told you we (NMBL) were taking off to new heights and this year would be an incredible time of growth, new hires, new clients and the sky was the limit. Obviously, that all changed, for us in St. Louis it changed on March 15th. I know this date specifically because March 13th is my wife’s birthday and that was truly the last moments of anything close to normalcy (although at that point you couldn’t find toilet paper or clorox wipes anywhere). At NMBL however, we did not let that stop or deter us. We encourage our clients every day to #beNMBL (be nimble) and we live our lives and run our business the same way. As we internally reflected on this unique year, we were reminded of all the good that came out of this year, it’s what prompted us to run a series of blog posts we entitled #CelebrateTheGood where we pulled amazing stories from across the United States to share some of the incredible feats people and companies pulled off in spite of the pandemic.

Beyond the numbers, in 2020 we also:

  • Rebranded our company from Analyroi to NMBL Strategies, realigning our name to the values we preach every day.

  • Welcomed some incredible teammates, Dion Brown our Managing Director of Nonprofits, Jack Hood who started as an intern and is now our Content Manager, and for that matter myself last January. My favorite moments are working with our team. I often tell people one of the greatest things about running a small business is choosing the people you get to work with.

  • Worked with and helped some incredible companies and nonprofits through one of the more difficult moments in history, often times doing all of this remotely, as we engaged groups as Interim CEO’s/Executive Director’s, Receivers, wrote strategic plans and ran earned income studies, and sometimes we were just there to be a sounding board when a CEO/Executive Director/Board Chair needed someone to talk to about the difficulties going on.

We often times hear how the grass is always greener somewhere else, but for me, there is no place I would rather be than working at NMBL, with the great group of people here and the incredible clients. 2021 promises to be an exciting year in so many ways, not the least of which is the incredible growth opportunities that we see for ourselves on the horizon. One thing I can say with certainty in 2021 is we will continue to #beNMBL and no matter what comes our way we’ll figure out 2021 just like we did 2020.

Sincerely,

Eric Moraczewski
